What social media channels should your business be using? That really depends on your business and, more importantly, your audience.
According to a recent survey by Pew Research, Facebook and YouTube remain dominant but YouTube is growing at a much faster rate. And Reddit is starting to rise.
In the last 12 months, YouTube has increased 8% and Reddit has increased 7%. Redditt has spent some time sprucing up its platform to improve its appeal to a wider, more diverse audience. And it seems to be paying off.
Not surprisingly, Instagram adoption is also growing with 40% of U.S. adults using Instagram. 30% are on LinkedIn and Pinterest. TikTok is rounding the corner with 21% of the population according to the Pew survey. TikTok is very popular among young users.
So, when making a decision about your social marketing mix, don’t count out Facebook or put too much emphasis on platforms like TikTok. What’s most important is to know your audience and produce engaging content.
